With mental illness being more prevalent than ever, this exhibition examines asylums and what they initially represented – “a place of refuges, sanctuary and care” – and questions whether this idea could be reclaimed once more.
Works includes pieces by artists, such as David Beales, Richard Dadd, Dora García, Eva Kotátková, Shana Moulton, Erica Scourti, Javier Téllez and personal hero and favourite of mine Adolf Wölfli.
This exhibition is running until 15 Jan 2017 (Tuesdays – Sundays 1000 – 1800).
